Philosophy in Action
This forum will provide an ongoing series of practical examples of Philosophy in Action. Many come from the observations and practice of students in the School of Practical Philosophy, offered in weekly classes or on retreat. We hope you take inspiration from their examples and that you will contribute freely some of your own.

Welcome to the School of Practical Philosophy Forums.  Our aim is that participation will be illuminating and enjoyable. Here’s how we expect this to take place.

Moderators will present key teachings and practical principles espoused by some of the world’s greatest philosophers. Members will share their view of these teachings and experience in putting these principles to the test in their lives. Increased knowledge and inspiration will be gained from the collective wisdom and experience of Forum Members.

Please review the basic ‘Rules of the Road’ before becoming a Member. 

Contacts - Each Forum has a moderator who is identified in the welcoming message. 

Structure  - Only the moderator will be authorized to post Topics.  Topics are specific principles for members to consider.  Responses to these topics can be posted by any member.  Responses may be to the general topic and/or to a prior response.

No Anonymous Postings Please register a username like J Smith, with your first initial and complete last name; or J C Smith in order to ensure that your username is unique. Note that if a further J C Smith wished to register then J C2 Smith would make the username unique. Note that you must keep the box (Attach signature) ticked when you make a post so your signature is appended to your message.

Civility Rudeness, insulting posts, or deliberately mischievous or inflammatory posts will not be accepted. Also, please do not use text-speak (i.e. b4 for before) and proofread your message before submitting. Using a word processor with spell check and then cutting and pasting into your post may be helpful. Avoid cryptic messages; be clear and explicit.

Copyrighted Material Do not infringe on another’s copyright without permission. If you quote someone’s work name the source precisely.

Unacceptable Messages The Administrators and Moderators reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice. Generally, postings unrelated to the Topic will be removed. Administrators and Moderators reserve the right to take any action deemed appropriate to ensure that this Forum is not abused in any way.
